Hot Beverages to Warm up Your Holidays

The holidays are just around the corner and it’s time to start planning for family gatherings, parties, and get-together. One way to create happy holiday atmosphere is to make sure that there are delicious hot beverages for everyone to share. Everyone has their classic favorites, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t offer great variations on these.

For example, everyone loves hot chocolate. It brings up memories of fun-filled snowy nights and childhood delights. Most people know of the warm, chocolaty deliciousness, but there are plenty of ways to make it your own. For example, you can play with the different toppings. Instead of plain whipped cream or marshmallows, you can add chocolate shavings for an extra chocolate punch. You can also give it a holiday flavor by adding a peppermint stick stirrer or peppermint shavings. For something extra, drizzle caramel or butterscotch over the other toppings.

If you are looking for changes to the hot chocolate itself, there are plenty of variations to make it your own. You can make a white chocolate version, which is creamy and sweet. Some like adding a little spice with their chocolate and make a chili hot chocolate. For someone who really enjoys peanut butter, a dollop of that into hot chocolate and it will taste like a yummy candy bar.

Another holiday favorite is hot ciders. There is just nothing like curling up with a cup of cinnamon infused apple cider. If you are eager to make it your own, you should consider adding something new, like some cranberry juice to give it a slightly tarter flavor, or add some lemon or orange to give the cider a little citrus bite. If you are looking for something a little creamier, adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream will make the cider more like a nog.

If a cup of tea is more of your style, there are plenty of ways to give it a holiday flair. By adding a little cinnamon and ginger to a vanilla flavored tea, it will be like you are nibbling on a gingerbread treat. You can also add a little peppermint to a tea for a tingly treat. Another delightful flavor is adding vanilla and cinnamon to black tea with a splash of sugar and milk for a creamy indulgence. These are just a taste of what you can do with a creative mind in the kitchen. Don’t be afraid to try new things when it comes to these classics, you might just create the next big hit at your gathering.

    Hello doc GG!

I usually go with hot chocolate with marshmallows. It’s always my first choice. Then, there’s always a cup of hot coffee with cream or milk. These two are enough to warm up my chilly days!
