Paksiw na Isda (Fish in Vinegar)

One of the most common Filipino dishes that is very easy to prepare and cook is the Paksiw na Isda (Fish in Vinegar).

Though I love fishes, Emoticon only domesticated fishes, I really do not know what’s the name of the fish that my mom used and prepared — Paksiw na Isda (Fish in Vinegar) shown in the above image.

Let me share to you the ingredients in making Paksiw na Isda. Smiley

Of course one needs the fish — any kinds of fish will do. Vinegar, this is the most important ingredient aside from the fish itself. One should also prepare garlic. Onions, for me, is not necessary but many prefers Paksiw na Isda to have garlic.

These are just the things to prepare. See? It’s really easy and very affordable. So now, let’s start cooking. Haha!

Cooking Paksiw na Isda (Fish in Vinegar) ain’t really that hard. If preparing its ingredients is very simple, how much more cooking it? LOL! As far as I experience, I just arrange all the above mentioned ingredients in a cooking pan. And set the stove in a low continuous heating. This is to allow the vinegar to be slowly absorbed by the fish meat.

    haven’t had paksiw for some time now gay, before when i was pregnant with Job, i loved it to bits, pero now, wala na jud mi naka inun-unan… hahaha! i miss this dish! was here for YS!

    Aaaah, Paksiw na Isda!!! in Bisaya Inon-onan. My friend and I have been arguing about what’s the tagalog of this dish.

    This one doesn’t miss our everyday meal. My mom is an adik to Inon-onan. hahahah
