Heart-shaped Moringa Leaf catches my attention

Having the Moringa leaves in our chicken or fish soup is not new to me. But seeing a heart-shaped moringa leaf from a bunch of stems that I was stuffing, it really caught my attention.

Moringa Leaf

From the image above, the heart-shaped leaf is just so perfectly heart-shaped for me. This, for me, is just a reminder that this Moringa not just provides a lot of benefits for me as I am still breastfeeding but for my heart as well. And maybe this reminds me that it is February already. Smiley

But whatever it would be, this heart-shaped moringa, or even those with regular leaf shape, has a lot of good stuff to provide to us. It is used as a supplement in treating the so-called “tired blood” or anemia. It is also used to treat arthritis and other joint pain, asthma, cancer, constipation, diabetes and a lot more illnesses and even parasitic infections. As mentioned above, this Moringa  also helps me produce or increase my breast milk production.

Moreover, locally, this Moringa is known as Malunggay, Kamunggay, Kalamunggay. Even the seeds and the flowers of this Moringa plant can be added in any soups and can be consumed. Vegetarian Mixed Malunggay Canton

I really love vegetarian foods. In fact, I will share today another vegie dish that I’ve tried just recently from one of the known restaurants here in Cebu City.

Here again, I have Malunggay Canton but this is different from before though this is still mixed with malunggay canton. The last one that I shared was Seafood Mixed in Malunggay Canton. This one is merely a vegetarian mixed menu.

As far as I could remember from what I’ve eaten, some of the other vegetables mixed on the dish were carrots, spinach and mushrooms.

In terms of the deliciousness of the food, well, it was undoubtedly very mouth-watering added to the fact that the food itself is a very healthy one.

Have a blessed Sunday everyone!

Seafood Mixed in Malunggay Canton

One Thursday noon, I and my classmate, Ernhez, had a time to dine out in Savory Restaurant. We’re actually getting very hungry that time and since when we check and found out Savory has no crowding people there, we just opt to have had a seat there.

Healthy foods, undoubtedly, are what each of us are always wanting to gulp. Upon looking at the menu of the said restaurant, Malunggay Canton is looking yummy, healthy and very delicious. With no hesitations, we immediately ordered one serving for the two of us.

My classmate is not picky in terms of foodies for as long as it’s looking clean and well-prepared. But me, I honestly share, I am very choosy and much moody in all of my food tastes even at home. This actually one reason why my classmate just allow me to choose any food that was good tasting and inviting in my eyes.

Actually, for the two of us, it was the very first time to see a Malunggay Canton. The canton strips itself are looking so weird, though. It’s not the usually yellowish whitish color hues of any cantons but a greenish brownish with dark green dots on it. According to one of the restaurant’s crews, the greenish blackish dots are some parts of the pounded Malunggay leaves to powdery texture.

Nonetheless, the canton was really really mouth-watering.

Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables with Salted Fish Thai Style

I and some of my classmates in medical school had a chance to dine out at Banana Leaf, Ayala Center Cebu Terraces last week after some laboratory sessions at one of the big hospitals near Ayala Center.

I ordered Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables with Salted Fish Thai Style for myself aside from the fact that I do not eat pork nor beef, it’s my first time also to hear such yummy sounds of food after a very tiring hospital routine.

Indeed, the Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables with Salted Fish Thai Style was so delicious. A very yummy entry for Yummy Sunday!
