Avocados: The World’s Most Perfect Food

I’ve just recently read from health.yahoo.net about how perfect Avocado fruit is. And so I wanted to share these information to all of you here.

Avocado can make us leaner and lighter. It’s a fact that avocados have high fat contents but according to studies done, avocado eaters have lower average weight  which is 7.5 pounds less, smaller waistline  which is 1.6 inches less, and a lower body mass index (BMI) than those non-consumers.

Avocado can make our skin youthful and having a fewer wrinkles. Carotenoids help slow down skin aging and it even protect our skin from the damage UV rays, and it also protect us against sunburn. These carotenoids can be found in avocados.

Avocado helps reduce the risk of heart attack and diabetes. A study showed that avocado eaters have lower risk of developing metabolic syndrome like diabetes.

Avocado has anti-inflammatory effects. Study showed that eating a slice or two of avocado reduces inflammation and blood vessel reactivity two hours later.

Avocado protects us from cancer. Avocados are rich in phytochemicals which help fight against cancer.

‘Clean 15’: 2013 List of Fruits & Vegetables Least Contaminated By Pesticides

It is always good to eat clean and least contaminated with pesticides fruits and vegetables. Isn’t it? So, to assure the public what fruits and vegetables are least contaminated with pesticides, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) has released its 2013 list of fruits and vegetables that are least contaminated with pesticides and called them Clean 15.

These are the Clean 15, 2013 list of fruits and vegetables that are least contaminated with pesticides:

  2. Onions
  3. Pineapples
  4. Avocados
  5. Cabbage
  6. Frozen Sweet Peas
  7. Papaya
  8. Mangoes
  9. Asparagus
  10. Eggplant
  11. Kiwi
  12. Grapefruit
  13. Cantaloupe
  14. Sweet Potato
  15. Mushrooms
