3rd Birthday Boy Cake Ideas

My little Zach will be celebrating his 3rd year of bountiful life in a span of 10 days now. But up until now, I do not exactly know how will I arrange and make his 3rd birthday cake a presentable and accordingly.

I know he has a lot of things wanting to have right now. I am actually torn between an ocean of ideas. But can you guys give me some hint on which is which?

Is this number 3 cake-designed runway with cars above it a great idea?

What about the one like here below? A round cake with a gliding-like runway from the uppermost part of the cake downward.

Or perhaps a combined idea of a cartoon character in a number 3-shaped cake?

I and my family decided to go cake house hopping this morning thinking if we can get the best idea. But to our surprise, we end up looking for a speaker set and a karaoke machine at home. I even hopped to another music store looking for Pioneer DJ Equipment.

We all just looked at each other — staring one another like reading each mind blaming each one that we didn’t able to look for cake ideas but rather musical instruments.

Didong’s 9th Birthday Cake

Yesterday, our then baby boy just turned 9 and he’s already our not-so-little man as he is now getting bigger and yet smarter as well.

Didong's 9th Birthday Cake

Didong has just turned 9 years old yesterday and I am so proud to share to you my creation – Didong’s 9th birthday cake.

The cake was a 3 layer 1-inch each chocolate-red velvet-chocolate cakes drizzled with chocolate ganache and topped with white chocolate chips. I also fenced the cake with chocolate sticks. Aside from the cake, I also made red velvet and chocolate cupcakes topped with cream cheese frosting. I prepared all these using our new Black Tecnogas 55cm 4-Burner Gas Cooking Range which I just recently blogged about. I sure to cook, bake and prepare more sweets using this one in the coming days.

Easy 3 Ingredients Soufflé Cheesecake (Japanese Cotton Cheesecake)

There’s one cheesecake which gone viral the past days over the internet. And me getting itched to taste and figure it out how and why that cheesecake became viral, I tried to make one in my kitchen.

That cheesecake is the so-called 3 Ingredients Soufflé Cheesecake or the Japanese Cotton Cheesecake. It’s easy to prepare since we only need literally 3 ingredients.

What we need are just 3 large eggs, 120 grams of white chocolate and 120 grams of cream cheese.

Here’s how it is done. First is to separate the egg whites from the egg yolks. Set aside first the egg whites inside the fridge to cool it down also and work on with the egg yolks. For many home bakers who utilize ovens, you may set the oven to 170 degrees celcius. But in my case, since I am using a steamer, I just put the water into boil. So now, the 120 grams of white chocolate must be melted, you can use double boiler or the more conventional chocolatier melting pot. Mix the melted chocolate until smooth and fold in the 120 grams cream cheese. Once completely incorporated, add in the 3 egg yolks. Meanwhile, whisk using a hand mixer the egg whites until forming a stiff peak. Then fold in the 1/3 parts of the formed meringue to the egg yolk batter. Make sure to equally incorporate the meringue and add in the remaining part. Mix well. After which, pour the batter in the oil-sprayed baking pan and placed in a steam bath and cook in the preheated oven or directly put inside a steamer. For oven baking, this is up until around 15 minutes or you may do the toothpick test. For the steamer, I just cooked it not more than 10 minutes. Once done, you may sprinkle the top with confectioner’s sugar or any sweet toppings you like.

This is best served when cold but not frozen.

Cakes and Other Birthday Food Ideas

After my son’s first birthday bash, I was already excited again to celebrate for his second birthday. With that excitement, I couldn’t stop myself from looking forward to a possible more enjoyable kiddie party next year. Of course, the cakes, the foods and all of what a party should have had already been dancing in my really giggling mind.

A day after his birthday, I and my hubby was supposedly to look for ipad holder which I would supposed to use during my hospital duty. But telling you guys, the hunting of ipad holders ended up hunting for second birthday ideas for our little boy, from the cakes, foods, drinks, gigs and for the theme and motif. Haha! Can you imagine that day we had? But still, it was a great day for the two of us.
